Chassis condition?

Just out of curiosity - how are all of your Chassis holding out?? I am thinking more of the 2003 T350/Tamora as they're now 7 years old and it was the point where Cerberas seemed to start showing signs of it?

Anyone with an older T-car with high miles care to comment/ post up photos?

My 2004 chassis seems to be holding up just fine - no flaking or rust in sight. The only bits with rust are some of the chassis and wishbone bolts which have a smidge of surface rust on them.

Mines the same as Trefors, 20k on the clock (11500 of which in my 18 month ownership), and she's solid despite being used in all weathers. I do have it prepped, inspected and waxoiled every 6k though.

I have an early 2003 T350c and the chassis is spot on - I waxoyl it myself and touch up any areas where the powder coating has come away with POR15.

my Tam id 9 yrs old today, 19K on the clock and chasis all looks good.

I have a 2001 Cerbera and the chassis looks really good at nearly 60k but I have just had some work done on the area of the chassis next to the cats. The heat from the cats was doing it's best to destroy the chassis and had to be sorted. I have now got a heat shield between the cats and chassis which I believe the latter cars had, this was put on after this area was brought back to new by the garage.
Leason here I think is to check this area now to avoid high cost latter on.

Thanks Kevin, I know about the Cerberas though, I believe ours is 92k miles+ now and has just had brand new outriggers fitted amongst other things... I know how and where they rust - the inner skeleton is going to be addressed shortly too. I am just trying to guage whether they made significant improvements in terms of protection/ design with the T-cars chassis.

I never understood, why TVR never gave the chassis a zinck bath? or how you call that.

Wiesmann always did that to their "old" MF3 types, they use the same sort chassis, though the MF4 and MF5 have alu chassis
