Being under the flightpath to Lyneham here we see Hercs on a daily basis a few C-130s and the odd VC10. Something flew over low and slow yesterday morning however that we couldn't identify.
We only saw the underside and tail as it passed over but it was a large 2-engined jet, it had no visible markings on it (so not civilian) but was white with a black (or very dark blue) section at the front. Despite the size and altitude it seemed very quiet indeed.

Anyone know what it was? Sorry for the crappy description but I can definitely rule out any of the aircraft I've mentioned above.

Cheers

Is this a secret project because I haven't heard of it.

I thought it might be one of the Antonov An72/74 family perhaps.

Alternatively, it could very well be a civilian aircraft (such as an Airbus A300/310/Boeing 757/767) undertaking a military contract.

Forgot that. However, it matches the description in other respects and UKAR suggests one of them was possibly in them Lyneham area over the past 48 hours.
