I want to upgrade the growl slightly on the XJR! These 2 places seem to be the main options in Norwich for a custom stainless steel system. Anybody had any dealings?

Dealt with Mark at Power and Performance. He built the s/s exhaust system on my F150 HD truck and I love it.

Know quite a few other who have used them too with no problems. Very knowledgable guys too.

I would recommend power and performance too. Mark recently built me a full S/S CAT back system for my Monaro, it makes the V8 sound how a V8 should! biggrin

Some pix of the S/S system

Dad's known Alan at SCA for donkey's years, from when his old premises was in Bishop's Stortford, decent guy and very knowledgable/trustworthy, so i think you'd be in safe hands!

I'm taking my vintage Vauxhall them for an complete system fabrication and fit. My Vauxhall is 82 years old and requires the system to be muted as befits the age and type of vehicle. I let you know how we get on.

You're making me feel old saying your dad remembers them when they were in Stortford!
I used to spend lots with them on my mk1 Escort back in the 80s & early 90s! hehe! wink

Im afraid my dealings with SCA were lacklustre at best.

If I were you, I'd give the other guys a go as you may be waiting a while for SCA to pull their finger out.

Just my experience.

I took my oddball Nissan 300C to SCA some years ago for a bespoke S/S exhaust. Perhaps they didn’t like me/the car, but they sent me up to Power & Performance and I’ve gone there ever since. SCA’s loss, P&P’s gain...

Just to update, I used Power and Performance and Mark was indeed a good chap. Sadly, before I even got a chance to get used to the new noise, the head gasket went, so now it's sat at Scole Engineering awaiting its new lease of life! frown

I'm afraid that my own dealings have also proved that I must concur with the above mentioned. The manifold had to come off so that an flange leak could be dealt with, this was carried out with no problem I was told. However when I picked my car up the exhaust manifold was blowing badly, the Company admitted it did not have the equipment to deal with the job! Pity. The whole episode has cost me in excess of 800 pounds, never again.

Sounds like I backed the right horse then! Now if only those boys at Scole Engineering weren't so popular, they might have actually had a chance to look at my car! They do certainly know their stuff, but I do get scared when I see cars on the ramps that have a layer of dust on them and others that have sat there for months! If I have to hire a car for too many weeks, I might as well have scrapped it! banghead

Yes, I will be booking my old Vauxhall into Scole for the manifold job to be repaired properly. Last time I spoke with Jason he said that they are taking on an extra pair of hands to ease the flow through. Whatever, its worth the wait to have problems correctly identified / repaired.
In fairness the stainless exhaust system that was fitted is fine, just seems that scs are limited in what they are able to do and shouldn't have attempted my manifold, at my expense.

Another vote for Mark at Power & Performance here smile

Their welding is excellent. Mark built me a full external cage on my Vitara, it's superb smile
