Polished Cam Cover

Has anyone blinged up their engine at all? Would be interested to see polished cam cover pics (& other parts) if anyone has one. I have seen a few different colours, yellow's my fav at the mo, but am also thinking about polished/chromed parts too.

Red with Carbon bling and SS bolts. Shot blasted fuel rail & T-bodies. Santa should ne bringing an ACT airbox at Christmas & a new silicone hose set.

Just on the Oxford tube to pick my T350T back up from Str8six, complete with shiny new cam cover, hoses, reverse switch and all the other little things fixed that Jason found.

Looking forward to getting her back... not so looking forward to the bill but at least I know everything is sorted now

Ahhh the Oxford Tube - I use that, it isn't that bad really. It only costs me £11 too as i get to use my student card. I left uni a couple of years back but my card is still valid.

Anyway, remember to post pics up of what you had done, especially those new hoses you've had done, i'm going to do the same.

I'll also post pics up once my new iphone finally arrives

I'd already asked Jason to replace the hoses before I took the car in but Jason confirmed after inspection that the old rubber ones were certainly in need of replacement.

Few bits and pieces done under warranty and engine mounts are starting to crack but Jason recons they are good for a while yet so advised to do at next service.

Only concern at the moment is that dealer I bought the car from was supposed to have done valve clearances but Jason checked when he had the cam cover off to replace it and either they didn't do the job properly or not at all as they were not correct. Jason has sorted it but I'm going to take it up with the dealer as have done less that 1K since I bought it with fresh 12k service on.

Well at least your getting the valves sorted out now - They could have been left and driven 5k more miles like that.

What colour rocker cover did you get btw? I got mine done in yellow with blue/purple plug cover.

It looks so much better now. Have just bought some 3mm blue silicon hose and will be changing the washer hose at some point.

When i take it back to Jason i'll get the the blue hoses added too.

Next on my list will be changing the washer bottle as it just looks ugly.

This sort of car really deserves a clean colourful engine bay imo.

This is mine but it's a replacement not the original one.

Makes the reverse light come on when you put the car in reverse gear. Mounted on the gearbox, this is the switch I mentioned checking the alignment of several times before putting your console back on after replacing the gearstick.

Kev - Did you only go for the cam cover or have you had the pre-oiler fitted. Looks good.

Just the cam cover this time, I was already spending more money than I wanted at the time due to all the other work I was getting done, I think it's a big improvement in looks and makes changing or checking plugs and leads a doddle.

Red - some may say a bit boring maybe but it goes nicely with the titanium silver colour of the car. Looks much tidier in the bay now especially with the silicon hoses... downside means I'll have to give it all a proper clean!!! Plug cover looks a bit tired in comparison as well but that can wait until next service.

Hi Kevin, even though you havn't got the oil system fitted yet, do you find that your new cover makes the top end of your engine sound quieter?

I'm not too sure really because I have had a couple of noisy bearings changed in the engine and the tappets were done at the service, however if it's these or the cam cover im not sure but the engine certainly does sound quite a bit quieter, I can now hear the exhaust noise better.
