How did that road ever get through the Health&Safety Daily Wail brigade in this Country? Does it work well or is it abit mental?

It's a tidal flow IIRC, so the number of lanes heading in each direction can change depending on the time of day, there's always one lane kept clear to seperate the two sets of traffic, so it's not quote like a single carriageway. Odd to drive on though.

I would have expected the owner to have been charged with permitting though, or else the driver should have been done for TWOCing. Seems very slack to me.

And the Audi story was weird - I didn't expect the driver to get it back.

That sounded right dodgy. Personally, it sounded as if the trader was in on it. Him and the mate that he lent the car to and, not reporting it stolen until after the mate had sold the car on, thus coming up clean when being HPI'd.

What would the trader gain from doing that?

The only scenario I can think of is that he leaned on the guy who sold it to hand over the money.

At a guess; pocket half the money from the sale, plus, reselling the car once returned by police.

It was a C220, and when they were booking him they said his speed was 133-134 mph.

It was a C220 CDI, it would probably hit 140 downhill but its official top speed is something like 136

Soon to be for sale under the MB Approved Used scheme no doubt.
