Alfa GT - what's the 1.8 like?
Discussion
Only just joined so sorry for not replying sooner.
My partner has an Alfa GT 1.8 TS Cloverleaf which she really likes and she came from a Mini Cooper. Similarish consumption ie about 27-33mpg just mooching about. Far more style and it's (touch wood) been very reliable in the 2 years and 20,000 miles we've had it. It's going in for a service tomorrow actually.
I'd recommend one and they're not much slower than the 2 litre from the drivers seat so I'm sure she'll be happy with the perfomance.

Im doing to have a guess that it's the same JTS twin spark that is in the 156 etc. In which case cambelts can be an issue and I think have a 36k interval. No personal experience of them though I'm affraid.
I had no idea you could get a 1.8 GT but having just done a quick search, it appears that you can.Edited by hugh_ on Saturday 4th September 19:19
What you've said here isn't quite right though - the 1.8 in a GT is a Twin Spark, but it's a totally different engine from a JTS, which in the GT are only found in 2.0 flavour.
