Gearbox oil

Since the search function isn't functioning i thought best to ask

Is the gearbox fill point also the level point?

I've seen a few drops on the bottom of the housing so want to check it when i swap exhausts over next week.

also have a patch left on my drive, that is clear, slightly oily although only in texture between your fingers, doesn't task of anything so, not even sure where to begin other than when its up in the air to have a good look.

Gearbox oil is normally red, what your describing sounds like it could be clutch fluid from a leaky slave?

there is definitely red oil hanging on the gear box casing, i'll check the clutch level then tomorrow see whats happening.

Yep, g'box fill point is the level.

excellent, if i'm not busy at work, i'll drive it over the train maintenance pits and have a better look than on axle stands

What a pain in the arse to check the clutch reservoir, had to remove the airbox to get to the bottom screw
