Post Donington '04...
Discussion
As a fairly new owner of a Lotus, this was my first 'Lotus' meeting/show of the year, looking at previous photos of the Donington event, I left a bit disappointed as I expected to see more JPS Esprits and the Bond car, overall I felt the show was fairly small.
I was hoping to pick up some Esprit bits, and at the end of the day I walked away with nothing more than a mouse mat and a fleece. I was just whondering what other Lotus/Esprit owners thought?
On the up side though, there were some very nice Esprits (as well as other Lotus') inside and out, and considering the weather wasn't great, it was a great turnout!

Hi Brent,
As is often mentioned, the car park tends to be the main meeting and reason for many to go. The show provides a more than suitable focal point.
Am sorry you did not find the show inside as hoped,it's normally first timers that enjoy it most.
I say this because it is always 'same formula as last year' with the same stands, quite a few of the same cars, and many of the same parts.
I think the club lotus 'International two day event' trumping of the show does raise the hopes of some.
As you said though, great turnout and a good esprit fix for me after three months without one.
Had a great time.

its horses for courses i'm afraid they havent changed much in the 8 years i have been going to various Lotus fairs although i did somehow manage to spend £160 on some more toys and books etc for my Esprit collection
Car park as always is the best place to be and the drive up from Newport Pagnell was eventful with 10+ Esprits, a 300 ZX and an Elise playing dodgems
Some pics on my site www.argyrou.com under the Lotus section
and a 3 minute (20 Mb) sample video of the Journey at www.argy.co.uk/don.wmv
Kylie, you will notice i mixed in the music with the background exhaust noise just for you :-)
Enjoy

Tony, who sings that song in the clip?
Its a song called Mama Used to Say - Take your time young man, by a guy called Junior in the 80's hence the relevence to a few of the foot down on the pedal hooners :-)
Exactly has the song says! LOL
Question, what in the world is 'Hooning'? I am guessing a gathering?
The white sport 350 was so amazing! I also liked the body scheme of the Elise in the last clip.

ohhh now u have started something, i'm sure the rest of the Hooners on this site will add to this thread with the answer...it's an Australian word i think for a roadtrip at speed or something like that
Oh LOL I mean I pretty much figured what it would mean, but always nice to get the clearest meaning of a word.

Looking at your pics, I take it you went on the Sunday? Just that there seemed to be some different cars, or perhaps I just missed them!
