Having just spent the best part of this week in Swansea and surrounding area (quite nice, too) I've come to the conclusion that the powers that be in Wa-ells don't like motorists.
I can't recall driving anywhere with so many speed cameras, red light cameras, restricted/permits only cameras, bus lane cameras...
So many sets of traffic lights that stay on red for such a long time that the tailbacks are just massive.
And the signage - are there really that many people here who only speak Welsh that the English has to be translated?
That is all.

Traffic is pretty bad op, alot of road changes in the last few years, most of it seems to have made things worse.
Introduction of bendy buses that are too big for the road (thank my dad for that one
).
Although i think the scenery of swansea makes up for the city center etc, out of interest was it business or pleasure?.
Also did you manage to go a drive down the gower?.

I'm not sure there's any more speed cameras than somewhere like Bristol.
The council do have a Hardon for unnecessary traffic lights though. Rat runs to avoid them are a must.
You should popped up to the black mountains, amazing roads just 20 mins away, no cameras up there!

Btw. Swansea's only the graveyard of ambition cos it's cowin lush!

Zollar, it was just a short break before my youngest starts skule next week.
Both kids thoroughly enjoyed the beach at Tenby and Oxwich ( jees, those back roads from Mumbles to Oxwich are tight!) .
Tell me, is it always this sunny?
It's just that every pretty girl ( and boy) are sooo tanned.

, probably due to being a beach side town im running down the front couple of times a week towards mumbles so probably more of a wind tan 
, shame the tower restaurant closed apparently theres amazing views of swansea up there.Any good car spots while you were driving around?.
Lots of family from Swansea, I really like the place, but hanker after some of the past places....Joe's Ice cream parlour was great as a kid, plus west cross / the mumbles is a great part of the world. Like a great british seaside destination.
Loads of fantastic beaches in Swansea, and the people are great, much friendlier in South Wales as a rule.

Have to say- we're in a superb apartment over looking the beach, just next to the observatory.

Born and bred in Swansea, although through work commitments I have been lucky enough to see lots of the world.
Think the council in Swansea have a hard-on for public transport systems that'll never work - the Bendy-Bus is a classic example. Create havoc by changing the already overloaded road infrastructure to acommadate unwanted and largely unused 'Bendy-Buses' (I work on the main route and have NEVER seen one with more than 6 people on it), install traffic lights every couple of hundred yards that are never 'phased' correctly, litter the roadscape with speed-bumps like sheep-sh!t on a mountain - put bus stops directly opposite each so nothing can pass if 2 buses are there .... You name it they've done it.
Still can't take away the intrinsic beauty of the area or some of the best driving roads in the country just a few miles away.

City centre is a chav infested dive, especially on saturday evenings! Roads in and out of the city are ruined by traffic lights and roads in gower are being phased down to 50 limits now and reguarly patrolled. Not a driving city really. However there are much worse places to live, born and bred here, left for 4 years and came back!

You get a coach one way and a dozy driver towing a caravan and nothing moves cos the bus can't reverse and the idiot with caravan doesn't kinow how to !!
