Well what do you think of the GDT70 ?

If I am going to spend 60-70K, is there something better.

I love the wed site films www.gdcars.com

No but seriously looked into them but I couldn't afford it, cheaper to build than an ultima too.

If you want a cool car with class then its the GDT70 for me.
If you want utter ridiculousness then it has to be an Ultima.

It depends on how it's built. I prefer the ultima for it's originality.

I think I'm just bored sick of ls powered cars, I'd rather have say an Audi ultima than an ls t70. But then again chevy power seems the right thing to do in a t70.

Your usual ls powered ultima doesn't do much for me either.

I do love the t70s don't get me wrong, they're an awesome bit of kit, I'm just bored of the powerplant. You could, I guess, stick whatever motor you wanted in a t70, but it just wouldn't be right. Like a rover powered cobra. The ultima is more of a blank page in that respect.

Anyway I do believe I'm rambling smile I wish I had that decision to make!!

Well, I agree about originality, yes, but a half decent replica is OK isn't it? And of something unobtainable?

Or, indeed, a Chevy powered Cobra..... like 80% of the bloody awful things.

Of course, it's similar to the gt40s... Most of us could never aspire to owning a real one... Same with the t70.

IMO, a t70 should have a period small block fitted. Any cobra or gt40 should be ford powered! But chevy motors have been so widely used they have become so normal. Regardless of the power output. It makes a special car that bit less interesting, for me anyway.

It appears that most Cobra 'Replicas' now have the wrong chassis and running gear, the wrong engine and are rarely accurate body-wise either. Some replica... rofl

As long as the inlets looks like this:

I don't care what engine is in the back of my GDT70.

Interestingly, a Google image search for "inlet trumpets" also returns this:

Win/Win, happy days smile

I have a classic memory of the first TotalKitCarLive! at Brands Hatch, where the GTD70 demonstrator and Andy Charlsey in the RAW Striker Hayabusa RGB race car met out on track together, both with paying passengers!!! "Race" is probobly not the politically correct word, but both of them were 10/10'ths with passengers having the ride of their lives. The Striker got passed and pulled away, but the GTD70 was seriouly rapid it looked and sounded an absolute beast.

I was at a hill climb in Belgium ( Teuven ) last weekend and some Dutchman had a GDT70. A fantastic car to look at and the build quality was second to none. Amazing cars those GD's !!

Not really, thanks. I can see the attraction, but I can think of quite a few other cars I would sooner have.
