Can anbyone clarify please, my sister told me she got 3 points for a parking "offence" in Edinburgh?
They've changed the times on a single yellow by 30 minutes and she got caught on this....... Since when can you get that? Sounds very natsi... or are the blue meanies going really over the top.....leg breaking time?
As she is rather "out of this world" shall we say... (i.e. a numpty) I'd like to give her advice......

No points for parking unless you take it to the extreme and she was prosecuted for Causing a Vehicle to be Dangerous Position, Sec 22RTA'88.

This is Endorsable with 3 points, but it certainly does not seen applicable in the case you describe.

The only place you can get points for parking is on the zig-zags surrounding a level crossing, as a mate of mine found out

I think it's on any zigzags. My father got done about 14 years ago for being partially on some.

Tonyrec, can you point me to a list of offences where points can be given? Thanks
My sister insists that she got these points for what I described, single yellow line in Edinburgh.....

I got 3 point for stopping on the zig zags at 11 o'clock at night on a sunday in a town centre years ago, I pulled up passenger got out and ran to cash point, I drove round the block and when I came back to pick him up two shiney young plods were stood with him waiting for me.........Ker ching

I think you can also get them if you're parked forcing passing cars to cross a solid white line.

You don't have to force them to cross the line. Parking adjacent to a solid white is sufficient.
