i was reading a fishing thread on there the other day. apparently the best methods are a quick whack on the head, or stick your finger in its mouth and twist its 'neck'. explosive seem a bit like overkill.

They only recommend explosives if the whale is over 26 feet long apparently. I expect whacking a thirty foot whale on the head with anything less than four sticks of dynamite is fairly ineffective...

The OPs link was about a whale in Perth 2 weeks ago. Mine was about a whale years and years ago where they used to much C4 by accident.
