Scuderia Hanseat Nurburgring Insurance
Discussion
I looked into this briefly last year, as I was interested in doing it.
You can (with difficulty) get cover for the TF element, but I came to the conclusion that it is basically impossible to get insurance for the closed circuit parts of an event like this for a UK registered car.
You are effectively looking for 3rd party cover for a track day, and the concept doesn't really seem to exist in UK insurance.
I'd be delighted to hear differently as it looks like an excellent course.
I decided the only way to do it would be to hire a track car locally, but that makes the cost quite significant.

That covers damage to the track, and costs incurred by you as a result of closures, but NOT damage to your own car, or anyone else's, or anyone else's injuries.the very limited "barrier damage" insurance scheme from allianz (via the aforementioned company) is no longer available.
the scuderia hanseat course requires 3rd party cover. as it's a private event you'll not likely find insurance cover for a UK registered car. a german registered car would have no such problem; even with a 'high street' motor insurance policy.
rent a car from rsrnurburg.com or similar.

OK. Scuderia Hanseat offer 3rd party insurance cover for the event for non-German cars for €125. My Manning insurance road policy also covers me 3rd party on public sessions on the Nordschliefe. The only company that does this I believe. Excellent policy.
I have also obtained accidental damage cover for the whole event from Moris (http://www.moris.co.uk) for a premium of around 1% of the cars value. The excess is around 10%. It's a lot of money but it's worth it for me for the peace of mind. I'll still be really slow but at least I'll be able to enjoy it without that nagging thought of the financial consequences of THE BIG ONE!

i was just about to say Moris.
I used them last week for the DN track day at the ring.
Have fun and please post up a review of the event as i am tempted to do that next year as very very good training event. There was a review a while back in performance car, but be great to see what a joe public thinks of it.

actually one of a few that offer nordschleife 'tourist driving' cover. manning offers a relatively limited policy given that its 3rd party only. i have comprehensive cover.
moris offer own damage (1st party) only cover. i use them for track days not covered by my existing policy and would recommend this firm for track days.

The manning policy may indeed be limited in the context of TF, but on the other hand it includes cover for an unlimited number of trackdays from the main UK TDOs - including ones on the 'ring. Something for which your solution requires you to take out extra cover. I also have an option for fully comp cover on the 'ring (before anyone asks - it is a company scheme and of no use to anyone who doesn't work at the same place as me) but that lacks any track day cover and is still more expensive by a tangible margin. moris offer own damage (1st party) only cover. i use them for track days not covered by my existing policy and would recommend this firm for track days.
