Trust me, if they've done wrong they will. If there is enough evidence to prosecute a police officer for driving offences that is generally what will happen - particularly when its plastered across the national news.

Hard to see in the pic but the rear tyres both look like they have different tread patterns (and both different from the front). Still not an excuse to go driving a car you're not meant to and carrying enough speed in said car to put it through some poor chap's garden.

I was thinking it could've been a mechanical failure but according to the article they had no need to drive it anyway as they were waiting for a flatbed to arrive and pick the car up.

Not to mention that the car was waiting for recovery, they shouldn't of been driving it at all. I'm unclear from the article if it's the traffic guys or the normal officers that were driving.

Didn't realise 'erratic driving' was an arrestable offence. Can't say I've ever heard of anyome being arrested for that in all my years in the job!
