windscreen rubber

At speed the other day the rubber at the top of the screen came loose and was flapping about.

Tried to stick it back with silicon but it won't stick to the rubber seal,and it keeps coming off.

Anyone used anything else or know what proper gear to use to get it to stick back on?

Clean off the sealer you put on, Thinners is about the best for removing this, (CELLULOSE THINNERS) dont spill it on the paint, If you do wipe of straight away it will be all right.. get everything off then restick with a small amount of MASTIC, this stuff stick like st to a nappy,, Use a tiny amount it speads everywhere,wipe off the ecxess with the same damp cloth,,

I used Sikaflex (black) to reattached mine. As has been said you need to remove the old stuff and also wipe out inside the rubber.
