So I'm looking around for a new play car, pretty much decided on a 911 Cabrio
Came across this on da bay

It's a pretty basic advert, all in caps with no punctuation which sets alarms ringing, the guy also doesn't really state the spec of the car, no mention of history etc.
So I send him some questions (you'll see them at the bottom of the listing)
You'll also see the reply:
To paraphrase (it was all in caps)
You're asking too many questions, I can't be bothered to answer them as loads of people are interested.
Well Mr seller, I was interested too.... how many of those people are going to be prepared to stump up 16k + on a car with no meaningful details....?
Honestly, why pay to advertise a car and then
a) write a really poor advert
b) not bother to answer potential buyer's questions.

Its a cheap 6 owner Porsche. I doubt the history will be tip top, but it will be easy to sell, to someone like himself, who isnt too fussed about all that other stuff.
He could have written a much better advert and achieved a better price, from more educated buyers.
Cheap cars and fussy buyers do not make good bed fellows.
You are better off not getting involved, but I think you will end up paying more for the right car.

I'm not looking at it because of the price, I'm interested because it's almost exactly the spec that I want.
I'd happily pay a sensible price for it if the history etc was all uptogether etc.

Broken down questions:
1) Can you confirm the service history for the vehicle please (dates, milesages etc)
2) Does the plate come with the car, if not, what plate is on her now?
3) Is there any record of remedial RMS / IMS works being carried out or any oil seepeage from those areas now?
4) Any chance of some further photos (interior and exterior please to derekmines@hotmail.co.uk)
5) Are you happy for the car to be independantly inspected (I'm working outside the UK for another 2 weeks so would be buying the car sight unseen)

Yet another 'I've been turned over by a dealer who I thought was genuine, but wasn't' thread approaches.OP - You are not going to get an up together car and cheap in the same advert. It's a fact of life. If the car is cheap, it's cheap for a reason.

however it is cheap for what it is and if the story isn't too bad then I might take a punt and see, however there will be no "I've been turned over" thread, going into this one eyes wide open!
