Good luck travelling anywhere by car in Glasgow or Edinburgh on the 16th.

Is it just me, or is this a bit OTT?

Highlight in Glasgow:
The top of the M77 northbound being closed to form a coach park.

Highlight in Edinburgh:
The West Approach Road being closed from mid morning until after lunch and Lothian Road being closed near-enough all day.

I mean, just read this and weep:

Extremely OTT. Effectively shutting down most of the major western and southern arterial routes in Edinburgh during rush hour and school run time. Bloody ridiculous that they can't just put him in a normal VIP car with escort like every other VIP that comes to town.

Not to mention Police on all 58 bridges over the M8 - although whether that's to contain Celtic fans cheering him on or prevent Rangers fans dropping rocks on him is anyone's guess.

Perhaps they just want to try and catch him speeding?

He did drive a Mark 3 golf remember!

A buyer I used to work with had all the excuses under the sun as to why things were late, when the last Pope visited he blamed a late delivery on the M62 being used as a car park, it turned out he was telling the truth!

If he were coming to my town, I'd be outraged.

I didn't invite him. He serves no useful purpose. If he wants to come, let him use the bus.

Failing that, I'm sure His Tonyness would fall over himself to give him a lift in his Galaxy.

If I want to watch a circus, I'll go to the Chinese one in the park.

Hah, they're not mutually exclusive.. I'm a Celtic fan and would drop a rock or two given the chance!

Yep, we got the PDF a couple of weeks ago - my office is between Western Approach Rd and Shandwick Place.

I'll be working from home, then.
