Guys,

Im virtually at IVA stage after a long long build, as most of you know ive gone over the top on most areas however with the financial climate as it is, im not sure whether to keep her or sell her on. My question is would i be better getting her through iva and selling her before i register her. or iva regsiter drive for a few weeks then sell her, or keep it and enjoy it.

Cheers

My two pence mate I think you should get it completely roadworthy e.g. through SVA and registered. That'll give the highest price.

BUT, are you seriously getting rid this close to the finishing post?

It will be very difficult for a new owner to get it completed as they will not be able to claim amatuer build or at least they will have a lot of sweet talking to do.

Complete it so you can at least say 'I did that'.

my intention was to finish and then allow the new owner to be the first registered.

the new owner will appreciate that you did the first 1000 miles and fix all the leaks and whatever other gremlins
you will find.
Out of interest is it possible to get the engine out with the gear box attached ? Anybody ever tried ?

laugh It is possible but you will have to get the angle grinder out and cut the rear frame rails.

Mind you why does it matter, if you pull them out in one go, its to do something major and you will split the engine and tranny anyway when out!!
