McLaren Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss

Just found this pic of a model line up of the SLR.

Noticed the SLR Stirling Moss has cockpit covers. Makes it look so cool, Would love one parked up like this in an immaculate McLaren factory style garage.

Anyway. What does the owner do with these cockpit covers and how are they fitted to the car? Also, are they all in silver and has anyone added 722 graphics to one?

They stow in a bag in the boot. They are fitted with latches, you can have the pasengers covered with the drivers off.

Of the 75 odd SterlingMoss, most were disapointingly silver or metalic grey. Some were black, and I think I recall at least one white car.

I think they missed a trick as one of the first development cars was Mclaren non metalic orange and it looked fantastic!

I was in Puerto Banus a few weeks back and saw this white one with carbon fibre stripe - complete with bodyguard to protect it. Looked very striking

Thanks guys

Would look great with matching crash helmets and black visors. It could fit easily into a sci-fi film.
