I have agreed a price for a 2007 XKR with 16k miles. It has just had a service and a health check at Jaguar
Is there any point in taking out the Jaguar 12 month extended warranty which is £1,250 for the year?
Also is it worth having the vehicle checked again by the RAC etc or should I trust the health check?
Can't wait to pick it up!!!!
Cheers

Definately with main dealer labour charges £100+ an hour and you also get Jaguar assist breakdown cover.
I pay £1150 for my S type.

Are you buying from a Main dealer. If so it will come with 12months warranty as part of the sale. If so by a new policy when the other expires.

These warranties are going up. 5 years ago they were £800!

Part prices are going up.
All those little electronic gizmos that go wrong in modern cars. There are far more in today's cars than there were 5 years ago.

Thanks for the feedback. The car is not from a jaguar dealer. I will take out the warranty I think.

When was the car registered? I seem to remember that you can only take out a jaguar extended warranty if it is taken immediately the manufacturer (3 year) warranty expires. if the car is already 3 years old you might struggle to get it, assuming previous owner hasn't already taken it out.
Not sure if i have been a help or hinderence!

I think rpgk is correct. For my S Type 4.2 V8 I extended my Jaguar warranty immediately after the initial 3 year warranty expired, and I've renewed it since. It still is a Jaguar warranty, whereas if there's a break before renewal I think you'll end up with something from Warranty Direct or similar.
