So, i buy a nice new shiny gearknob, unscrew the old one, screw on the new one - but - the numbers don't line up straight - any ideas how i get the numbers to line up with the actual movement of the gearstick?!
Below the knob there is a shield covering a nut, wind down the shield and undo the lock nut, line the knob up then tighten the nut to lock the knob in position. Then wind up the shield. Simples
ah perfect thanks... i did have a look at that sheild, (presume you mean the metal piece directly below the gearknob)... i must have just not been twisting it hard enough! will give it another go later... thanks v.much
