Indeed. The Daily Mail have probably made it up
But they are also reporting this story on BBC Radio 2 so it must be true

Bloody love ELO. I must admit I am not a follower of who is who within any band but what a shame.
Mainly got into ELO due to Radio Caroline that seems to be always giving them airtime.
I know its past his time but 'Time' is one one my favorite albums and is as 1980s as you could get and propels me back there

Would put Secret Messages above Time although both are cracking albums.
Bev Bevan's currently doing the clubs and pubs in Wolverhampton with the Bev Bevan Band with a couple of the other members.
That must be a new world record for random death. Was it a square bail, or one of these Big Wheels type? Was reading that the police are having trouble finding next of kin- he had no girlfriend, etc. And he was driving a van when he died. Not what I expected from a rock star and quite sad in it's own way. Kind of makes you wonder if this is the way life's meant to be.
Haven't listened to ELO since I was a kid, think I'll break some out again.

Apparently it was of the rolled variety. He had become a buddhist and was earning a living by travelling around teaching cello.
