Notchy clutch!
Discussion
Can't really explain this but the clutch feels 'notchy' when depressed.
I can change gears no problem but when the clutch is is moved up and down I can feel/hear a springy sort of notchy sound? Has anybody had this problem before? Apologise for the crap description.
...please tell me it isn't a new clutch...

No you don't have a new clutch
If it isn't slipping and the clutch fluid is not leaking, I wouldn't worry too much. The clutch movement does involve springs and these can get a bit noisy. There is also a release bearing and fork that can wear. If you can get access (you are lucky and have the bell housing with the access hole, might be worth having a look. Otherwise there is nowt you can do without dropping thebox... in which case you might as well change the clutch.

Where's the access hole, Steve?

Mine's done this for ages. I got someone to operate the clutch while I crawled around underneath and tried to find exactly where the noise was coming from. Turned out to be deep inside, so I came to the same conclusion. It's probably bearings or springs inside somewhere, at the moment it's working OK, but I'll get a new clutch sometime.
