Stupid newbie questions!
Discussion
I'm currently finishing my second Ultima GTR but I'm looking to sell upon completion. The Nob is one of the cars on my short list. So just some simples first off!
What do the different names mean? M12 GTO GTO-3 etc
When did the 3.0L replace the 2.5L
Which have 6-speed with LSD
Any obvious issues to be aware of?
Others in the short list .....
Lotus 2-11 or Exige
Cerbera (very late 4.5 LW)
M3 CSL
911 (993)
Megane R26R
Focus RS
I'm looking to have weekend fun and keep the depriciation to a minimum.
Cheers

I think I still need to get an Ultima out of my system. I almost bought a couple before buying the Noble - including a very nice Can-Am
. Don't know why but just something about a pure V8 street legal race car
If you are looking for pure weekend fun with limited depreciation then the M400 has got to be worth a look - very limited supply and the daddy of the M12 variant.
Not sure what I will do with mine now that I have done most of the jobs that I want to and think I am starting to get bored...need to drive more but I find myself driving the ML or Porsche more and have just ordered a new X5 which was quite fun.

Yawn .... no one would look twice at any of the cars above.Cerbera (very late 4.5 LW)
M3 CSL
911 (993)
Megane R26R
Focus RS
Focus RS - you'll look like a chav teenager
Megane R62R - ditto above
911 - no one will move out the way when you are on the motorway or let you out of side roads
M3 - so you have a family to carry around as well?
Cerbera - better join the AA
Lotus Exige - nice, but not as nice as a Noble
But seriously, if you have the money go for a 3 litre, the latest 3R has all the niggles sorted.
LSD, 6 speed gear box etc.
Nobles are fast, but actually very easy to live with and easy to drive around town. Not as impracticle as you may think or others would like you to believe.
Everyone moves out the way and everyone lets you out of junctions. They all smile and wave at you as you go past!
You just can't stop grinning ...
The only problem is if you buy you won't know what to get after it.
I am on my 4th Noble if you can count buying the same one twice.
Everytime i sell, i go and try some different cars, but nothing ever compares, so i end up going back to the Noble, i personally would recommend the GTO 3R(6 speed) when considering money vs specification.
A supercharged Cayman S might be a good alternative for similar money.

Bloody ell David, you collecting cars
Your not seriously thinking of selling the Noble are you? I was the same when i had finished the mods, doing the project is half of the fun. To be honest i was on the verge of trying something different myself, either a supercharged Cayman S or a supercharged Europa, the Supercharged Evora looks quite nice also, but fate brought me back into Noble ownership once again
I also need to experience owning a 720bhp Ultima GTR and getting it out of my system, but i would seriously have to do something with that front clam and the interior

. The Noble has been up on the lift for several weeks (probably over a month since it has moved
) but probably a keeper due to the performance and rarity value.I agree that the Ultima interiors are a real turn off although I have seen a couple of builds that are fantastic so it can be done. I would also want an LS7/9 and not one of the older SBC engines which probably adds another £10k+. However I also quite fancy a RS10, GTR, SLS, Ferrari 458 etc so to move on I need to create some space in the garage....anyone want to but a nice unmolested 997TT
