Ouzo

I have been clearing my house out today as we are about to move. I discovered a little bottle of Ouzo that I brought back from Greece at least 16 years ago!

I am wondering whether it is safe to drink or should I call in the local HAZMAT team to deal with it?

It's about 40% alcohol, so it should be fine.

Nasty stuff even when fresh. I also have a 95% full bottle in the cabinet that I bought about 6 years ago and haven't touched since.

Give me a sambuca anyday over an ouzo or raki.

Arak ? I remember it from Lebanon. And a memorable breakfast of raw livers accompanied by tghe ARAK. I'm still alive 15 yrs later.

I'm the other way around.

I find sambuca cloying and a bit "sickly", but I'll happily knock back a glass of ouzo.

I remember spilling Raki on a painted floor and watching the paint start to bubble, still drank it but it was probably better as a paint stripper.
