Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a new car and would like to invite PHers suggestions. I currently have a 54-plate Nissan 350z which I have had for 3-years. I love the car but its time for a change. My buying criteria is as follows:
Budget: Up to £20K
Age: Less than 5 years old
Mileage: Less than 50K
Driving profile:
- I do approx 25K miles per year so its got to be something usable (i.e. a Lotus Elise, caterham or similar are not really any use).
- I do not want a kids car, so no hatchbacks or FWD rubbish.
- I don't like the BMW brand, so they are all out.
- Fuel economy is a consideration but performance is far more important to me.
- Previous cars include a string of Jap stuff (2x Imprezas, 2x 200SX, Accord Type-R, RX-8) but thats happened more through the extra "bang for your buck" you get with jap cars rather than an actual preference for them.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I'd love a Porsche Cayman S but good ones seem to be knocking around for about £25-30K at the moment. I do not want to lose too much money on one since I will pile 50K on to the car in 2 years.
I don't want the non-S variant because one day I definitely want the S!

Audi A5?
I hadn't considered the A5 because I assumed the only ones that would be within my budget would be FWD.
I've just done a National search on Autotrader and there are no Quattro's within the budget. I hate FWD.
Monaro is an interesting choice but my employer only pay back 21p per mile and I am not sure that would even cover the cost of juice, let alone the added depreciation!
