Thought I would give the power steering rack one last chance before going electric.

My rack has play in the rack bar and pinion that can't be adjusted out.

One of you guys suggested a specialist who I contacted.
As there are no parts available to fix this problem he was going to have a limited quantity especially machined in the next few months.

Well, a few months have passed and I have lost his details, doh!

He came highly recommended and I believe he may have been in Essex or on the east side of London from memory.

Can anyone rember posting?.

Top tip, replace the flexible hoses and fit a Magnefine ATQ filter in the return line when you have it rebuilt and you should get years of service thumbup

I also have lots of experience with Power Steering racks and would only use Kiley Clinton again - wish i had found them sooner and avoided a certain Grenwich based firm of charlatans!

The only other thing i have seen was an advert in Sprint about 12 months ago from someone saying they built the racks at the factory and was going to start making them again as well as refurbing leaking racks. I tried contacting them numerous times and never heard back despite leavng many messages. Can't remember their name unfortunately...

As stated, kiley can't help, they haven't the parts!

No parts are available that's why the company I am looking for were about to have the pinion and rack bar manufactured.

I am patient, I know you guy's will come through, eventually!

Shame if the parts aren't available as Kiley re-built mine for it's 4th time and it's lasted thru the Alps, doing some further testing on the Passo Della Futa (Ducati test track) tomorrow to make sure, but it's been superb and not leaked a drop, unlike the other cowboys from East London who had to re-build it 3 times and then it blew again on last years tour in the Alps.

Tada, perhaps these guys can sort you a rack?

http://www.titan.uk.net/contact.php

They only do electric PAS but they cuopd probably machine up the internals. Prices seemed very reasonable

You could make your heads pretty much the same as Andy's for minimal outlay.

They are V8D heads, not TVR BV. Andy likes the way his drives with them and they are paired with the cam, not an out'n'out power tune but it makes Andy pretty happy AFIK.
