...screens as well as the 'EXTREME' (very big) ones.

Supreme picture and sound quality in both and super-luxury reclining leather seats in the Scene! smile Expensive though. frown

What sort of money are you talking, including parking?

Cinema costs are getting completely out of hand IMO, their popularity has recently been rejuvenated with the introduction of 3D so I guess they are just cashing in; but there has to a be a limit where paying £25/30 for a couple to go and watch a film is a bit excessive for a night out!

The luxury 'SCENE' seats are £16 each!! Parking about £4 on top of that.

I am a bit of a cheapskate, so always take my own food (not hot!) and drinks in with me in a rucksack - never been a problem. smile That saves me a fair bit! wink

It's all a question of priorites I suppose. I don't drink, smoke or buy expensive clothes, or even eat out in flash restaurants, so can justify the cinema expenditure. Or even go on expensive holidays for that matter!!

Bloody hell, I've just realised what a sad, boring life I have!! smile

So a couple of you go, pay for parking and buy popcorn/sweets (I know you take your own food, but the majority wont) and you're looking at £40+! Christ, how pissed off would you be if the film was a load of crap?!

I can't believe they are managing to fill these places at that sort of money, especially when DVD releases seem to be getting ever closer to cinema releases.

I can see what you say about going out for meals etc, but for me I would much rather go and have a nice meal somewhere where you can have a chat and then go home and watch a £3.99 rented dvd that was on at the cinema 4 months ago.

IMAX is £14 - know where I would go.

Although you are limited to the number of films showing....

I've been there a few times and think it's fantastic.

Quite small cinema's so doesn't feel like you're on a long haul flight and it's enough of a premium over the regular cinema to keep the chav's out.

Car Park is expensive though.

I agree about the carpark charges! That's the main thing that prevents me from going more often, because if you go for a couple of hrs shopping before the film, the car park can easily end up costing £8!
