More Alarm Q's

When the alarm is activated on the Tamora, should it bleep loudly or just flash the lights?
Sometimes ours bleeps loudly, three times I think, but mostly it just flashes the indicators twice.

Which is the more normal or does it depend on other circumstances?

If it beeps it's telling you there is a fault ie a door or boot is open.

Normal use is silent, just the lights flash

Thinking back it only started bleeping just before the fuse in the battery compartment failed due to corrosion so I wonder if it was picking up a drop in current.

Will be the trigger for the boot (there are several things on the fuse that has blown inc boot light, cig lighter I would guess). Replace the blown fuse it should be fine

A bit off topic but due to the fact you can't lock the car and have the alarm disabled at the same time I'm wanting to change to a different type. What have you guys replaced the STD alarm system with?
