DB7 Volante

I have just been out in my mates (new to him) 1996 6 cylinder DB7.

Wow that car has some scuttleshake, low performance and the smallest brake dics I have ever seen on such a car... I am sure they would last 5 mins if pushed.

All I can say is don't bother! Save up the extra for an AMV8.

Am I missing something, I really wanted to like it. Is there a redeeming feature?

Funny you should say that, I've been looking at XK's recently, rode past a neighbours house and saw a car on the driveway and thought, nice colour for an XK

Turns out it's the Aston, does this mean the Jag Convertible will suffer from Scuttle Shake as well?

Maybe I'm in the minority then, I've always found the DB7 design to be one of the best looking Astons in a while. They do far more for me than the DB9, which doesn't stir me at all.

I used to own a works prep'd V12 manual DB7 Volante with a sports exhaust....It was epic!!

Cant say the handling was brilliant and it was a bit wobbly to be honest, but the other aspects of the car more than made up for it.

Abso-bloody-lutely!
Maybe not as pretty as the more modern stuff, but the almost perfect blend of brutishness (a la 1990s V8 Vantage 600) and the prettier looks of the more modern stuff.
Not quite Vanquish good looking, but pretty bloody good!

6 cyl version is totaly uninspiring, 12 is much nicer.
Horrible to do any work on.
Only redeeming feature is, much like a lotus you can play "name what car this part comes from".
