Right, don't ask where this has come from but I want to go bungee jumping. Why not? I know people normally do it for charity etc but can you just do it for the hell of it? How do you find out where its done, anyone know of a company that organises bungee jumps?

Smart arse. I'd like to know if anyone's done it before, reputable companies, if there are better places to do it than others etc.

Somewhere high, with a shorter bungee cord. Otherwise it gets messy...

Take a trip down to L'Isle Jourdain close to Limoges.

Go to the viaduct.

I think you pretty much just turn up and pay.

Purchase half a tonne of cheap booze.

Drive back.

I did a 300ft Crane Jump (actually jumped 3 times that day) with UK Bungee.

Very good company, highly recommended.

I did the Nevis High Wire Bungy Jump in New Zealand.

At the time I think it was either the highest or second highest in the world. It's not something I'm bothered about doing more than once, (there is little skill involved,) but I'm glad I've done it once.

If you're only going to do it once, you might as well do it properly...

I'd love to bungee, but I know I'd end up ready to go, before bottling it and hopping in the other direction still strapped to the bungee.

On another thread Harry Flashman said:

...Another one, when I was in no actual danger, was a bungee jump I did. I was giving it all a lot of chat and attitude, teasing the guys organising it etc. As I get to the edge of the platform, the chap says:

"OK, do exactly what I say, when I tell you to. Now, step to the edge of the platform,"

I do this.

"On 3, simply step off"

I step off at 3. As I do, I hear him screaming "NO! NOT YET! NOT YET!"

I actually think I had a heart attack on the way down. when I came back up, they were p1ssing themselves laughing. Gits.
Made me giggle.
