MTB near Norwich
Discussion
Is there any good mountain biking near Norwich besides Thetford Forest?
I've just moved here and I'd quite like to join a club of regular, casual riders.
I hear there's some stuff up near Cromer/Sheringham but can't find any information on trails. I live just down the road from the Ringland area which I believe is now out-of-bounds for bikers due to a falling out with the local council.
Does anybody have any tips on this area?

We ride around the norfolk area quite often, the main places are;
Thetford - You already know about.
Cromer / Sherringham - There is a lot of decent riding in the area, non really known / marked, we often go for miles / complete rides without seeing other riders - I always go with a group who know the area, I'd just get lost otherwise. Kelling Heath Caravan Park is probably the best place to park.
Ringland - as you say riding is banned up there, we went up there for a wonder recently and it was empty, no walkers or anything, looked as though some riding could be had round there so its a bit of a shame - we were talking to a guy recently who knew some people that were fined for riding it, is it worth the risk?
Mousehold Heath - Some little downhill lines / jumps, quite good fun.
Sloughbottom BMX track - If you like that sort of thing - Its a good track and ridable on an MTB.
Bacton (nr North Walsham) - Some good fun runs, not used enough so the tracks aren't too easy to follow and are littered with branches etc.
A little further afield is Chicksands, Probably 2hrs from Norwich.
Hope that helps, if your slow and unfit then I'm sure you can join us for a quick spin!
