Friend had one for his for corsa vxr which he then used on his focus st and now he is planning on using it for his Volvo XC90 diesel! He's had nothing but good things to say about it.

A Bluefin is a remap. It's just one you plug in and do yourself.

I got a Bluefin for my Mondeo. It's _only_ a 1.8 petrol, but the Bluefin was only £249, which was cheaper than other remaps. Considering the remap has helped the car massively (got rid of flat spots, no hesitation on the motorway, and better acceleration), and you get a fault code reader built in to the Bluefin box, and you can de-remap, and you can reuse the Bluefin device when you change cars, I think it was worth it.

Or Superchips/Bluefin dealers, such as JKM in Portsmouth - http://www.jkm.org.uk/

Oooh, didn't know you could transfer between cars...

Would it be worth it on a MK1 1.8 Petrol?

You cant transfer it between cars unless you pay Superchips an extortionate fee to reset it.

You'd gain a bit on the 1.8 Petrol, comparable to most other remaps for similar money. Best gains tend to be in overall driveability as opposed to peak power.

BEFORE you buy the bluefin, have a look at the Dreamscience units.

Better reviews, multiple remaps on each unit.

Ask over on focusstoc

Some (maybe all?) Ford Dealers sell Bluefin and let you keep your warranty, so can't be all bad smile

I been meaning to ask this, i think I will have to invest in one, approx £9.47/bhp cant be bad. I believe the newer ST's & RS's require Superchips to "activate" the ECU to accept the bluefin?

Any idea of the 0-60 increase on the MKII RS? An apparent 47bhp/56nm increase....

Yes for the mk2 RS you need to have the ECU enabled for ANY re-map, because no one apart from Mountune have the secret codes to gain proper access.

Im currently running Superchips 'stage2' map on my Focus and its horrible! Im not impressed with the way the power is delivered. Im away to change to another make.

I wouldnt be too hung up on 0-60 times for the Focus, remember its front wheel drive, so struggles on starts. Much better when in motion

Plenty of Bluefin handsets on Ebay!!

Even when the wheels are turning, I dont think the car is the quickest off the spot, until you climb the rev band i find it pretty "normal", I just wish it had a bit more urgency to get up into an appropriate rev range when setting off.

Stage 2? Thats an uprated intercooler and aftermarket exhaust with approx 385 bhp then?

A re-map soon makes the Focus much better.

Yeah i have an Airtec cooler and full Mongoose system. Around 350-360ish.
