Is the bluefin device reliable on a ford focus
Discussion
I got a Bluefin for my Mondeo. It's _only_ a 1.8 petrol, but the Bluefin was only £249, which was cheaper than other remaps. Considering the remap has helped the car massively (got rid of flat spots, no hesitation on the motorway, and better acceleration), and you get a fault code reader built in to the Bluefin box, and you can de-remap, and you can reuse the Bluefin device when you change cars, I think it was worth it.

Best place? Only place is from Superchips.
Or Superchips/Bluefin dealers, such as JKM in Portsmouth - http://www.jkm.org.uk/T84 said:
Oooh, didn't know you could transfer between cars...
Would it be worth it on a MK1 1.8 Petrol?
You cant transfer it between cars unless you pay Superchips an extortionate fee to reset it.Would it be worth it on a MK1 1.8 Petrol?
You'd gain a bit on the 1.8 Petrol, comparable to most other remaps for similar money. Best gains tend to be in overall driveability as opposed to peak power.

Yes for the mk2 RS you need to have the ECU enabled for ANY re-map, because no one apart from Mountune have the secret codes to gain proper access.
Im currently running Superchips 'stage2' map on my Focus and its horrible! Im not impressed with the way the power is delivered. Im away to change to another make.
I wouldnt be too hung up on 0-60 times for the Focus, remember its front wheel drive, so struggles on starts. Much better when in motion
Plenty of Bluefin handsets on Ebay!!

Even when the wheels are turning, I dont think the car is the quickest off the spot, until you climb the rev band i find it pretty "normal", I just wish it had a bit more urgency to get up into an appropriate rev range when setting off.
Stage 2? Thats an uprated intercooler and aftermarket exhaust with approx 385 bhp then?

A re-map soon makes the Focus much better. Stage 2? Thats an uprated intercooler and aftermarket exhaust with approx 385 bhp then?
