Anyone got any experience of this box of tricks? Going to have a good look/listen at a dealer but wanted any 'living with it' experiences if possible.

Love the Naim kit, I have just signed up to supply the Digital range and have used their Audio Servers on a number of projects.

Just to update - had a naimuniti on extended home demo and it's a bloody awesome sounding bit of kit. CD replay is superb as you'd expect, WAV and FLAC nigh on identical to CD, MP3s above 224kbits are bloody good and it's only with MP3s below 192kbits you start to notice the compression.

The most complicated thing about setting it up was getting it out of the box - seriously. Plugged it into the network, told it not to use wi-fi and away it went (assuming of course you already have a UPnP server running). Only downside is it won't stream apple lossless so a batch conversion is on the cards for some of the music but that's no real biggy. It will play apple lossless from an ipod plugged into the USB port however.

Soundwise it is very detailed and highly musical. What surprised me was how much more control over the lower frequencies it had compared to my (old) Cyrus mono-blocs. It just sounds 'right' regardless of source. Mine arrives in 2-3 weeks and the Cyrus gear is in the classifieds wink Naim have a revolutionary product here and apparently they are literally flying out of dealers.

I've had a Uniti for about 6 months, very happy with it. I have a pair of Leema Xeros connected, but it will obviously drive much bigger speakers. I have the Ipod cable as well, which given the obvious limitations performs very nicely.

The demo unit was driving my Castle Severns MkII - I have never heard them sing so sweetly, I couldn't stop grinning.

I was reading on the naim forum (strange place - still haven't been approved, hey-ho) that they have modified the uniti slightly. You no longer need naim's ipod cable, just use the standard apple usb cable and plug it into the usb port on the front of the uniti.

The missus now wants a unitiqute for downstairs.... who am I to argue?
