Recommend me some winter/wet weather gear
Discussion
Hi
Winter has appeared overnight here in Ireland, it has rained solidly for the last 4 days and my current gear is pants.
I like to wear shorts when cycling and I don't mind getting wet (just not soaked).
I need a goretex type hi-viz jacket (I have a cheap one which soaks through and becomes transparent !!)
I may consider a pair of tights as well.
All recommendations appreciated......I'm not after mega-expensive kit but I am willing to throw a couple of hundred quid at it to get some decent kit. I have learned the hard way that you tend to get what you pay for !
Thanks

You need to get some of these, they will fit though can initially be tricky to fit.

Top advice
Please buy a set ASAP and report back
IMHO mudguards make the biggest difference
Im not surprised youre getting drenched as you describe
I have been thinking of a set of cruds but have heard conflicting opinions
However for 25 quid I'll prob take a punt
I have SKS race blades which do a pretty good job on my road bike but just dont offer the protection you need to ride closely with a group of mates
