Every year when I renew my AA I get the parts a labour cover. I use it all the time (unfortunatley). Its very good cover and its upto £500 each claim and I think you are allowed 4 a year. :-).

just got a claim going through now.

If the search facility was working, you will find that I have mentioned it many a time.

I have had it for years, they now will cover multiple cars, however i would only suggest its used on old cars or specialist cars. Don't think its worth it on well built modern cars that are not to old.

Is that purely a warranty that you renew or do you have to renew your car insurance through the AA as well? And the obvious question how much per annum to cover the four £500 claims max?

nothing to do with insurance , it is an add on to the breakdown cover. There are conditions such as mileage and I think age of the car(s)

Used to be that the car can be no older than 10years but they have changed that now and that you can have more than one car.

its about £70 a year on top of breakdown. the only thing is that you have to call the AA out first. So if your rad went, you couldn't take it to the garage and then claim. you would have to call them out forst to record the fault. Waste of time i though but only way to get covered.

you have put my mind at rest now. ive had this cover for a year now and havn't had to claim. I read the booklet they suply and thought that it looked like massive list of get out clauses for every sinario(spelling).

I have claimed 4 times with only one being turned down due to what the garage said otherwise i would of had it covered. I know have to have the garage call them before touching the car as I'm a regular. lol

I have a new claim just about to start. lol

Bondy,
Have you read the book they send you on the policy?? The way i read it nothing is covered if it is due to wear and tear, nothing electrical is covered, Nothing is covered that has failed as the result of an electrical fault on another part that could have caused this to fail. etc etc...............
I read all of that jargon and couldnt see that i was ever going to be able to claim. Does it take close talks with the garage to make sure that what your claiming for is within the policy limitations??

Yes it is best to do that. My ignition amplifier was covered my rad was replaced and the latest will be covered also. they say exhaust system isn't covered but the turbos are. the booklet is crap but the AA man has a much better list that shows whats covered.

I know, confused.com

Just had another chat, ok it seems that parts are not covered :
Wear & Tear items,
corrosion,
water ingress

'Sudden failure of part' is covered, my argument on this is the manifolds have cracked, thats sudden failure, no corrosion, no water ingress. I've also argued the actuator is in the same position. Garage is having talks with RAC now so I'll report back if I get any joy.

Awesome again!!!

Ha ha .. it does seem really good. They allow you claim up to 5 times a year.

I just signed up. I cheekily asked them for a discount from the £73 a year - which they agreed on and gave it to me for £46.80!!

Result!

If only I knew about this last year!! Would have saved me a tonne of money!! Grrr.

Oh well better late than never - hope I never have to use it though.

Which company is that? Every one we have tried don't want to know as soon as they find out it's a Noble.
