chaps looking to get a new set of 888's for the Atom - I can get them from Ariel but they are out of stock of the fronts in super soft and they dont fit other than at their factory - Deemon T have stock but again I need them fitting - was given the details of Simply Tyres and some positive comments but the numbers and website do not respond suggesting Steve may no longer be trading - does anyone have his up to date contact details

otherwise if you know of a source that supplies and fits Toyo's in London or a mobile or static operation that can be relied upon in London to fit tyres I source I would love to hear from you

Camskill are normally the cheapest, and deliver - just take the tyres and a crisp £20 note down to your local 'generic fast fit tyre and exhaust emporium' and the guys will normally fit/balance them for you. Email Camskill first as you can normally wangle some discount which brings the prices down from "stratospheric" to merely "daylight robbery" smile

Steve at Simply Tyres has stopped that line of business, unfortunately. It was quite a while ago that I spoke to him - with any luck he's changed his mind, but that was the last I heard.

£20 to get four tyres fitted? You must be joking...
I've done it myself until recently - must have gone through 50 last year on a handful of events. I now have to pay for the priviledge though, and have been somewhat disappointed by prices:

My nearest tyre fitter (National Tyres): £17.50 per tyre. Kwik-Fit are marginally dearer.
Two local independants: £15 per tyre.
Cheapest I could find anywhere: £15 per pair - which isn't bad admittedly.

So if anyone knows of someone in the Coventry / Warwicks area that will fit four tyres for £20 then please let me know!!!

I wont pay any more than £20 a set for fitting and balancing cash in hand. I've found that most of the independent places are happy with the extra business, £20 is £20 at the end of the day, especially if they aren't busy!

Nope, £20 for all four from my local garage! Used to be either a box of biscuits or a slab of beer - I'm in the Forces - but the Fun Police have stopped MT on camp doing anything to civvy cars...

Hi Adam wink

You will of course be familiar with the extra hassle of getting tyres fitted to older Peugeots with centreless rims - some of the independants I've been to have said that they can't do them and have referred me to a main dealer. God only knows what they'll charge!

Incidentally, I bought one of these a while ago:
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=vi...
Haven't been quite desperate enough to use it yet though!

Does the whole of RR have a secret Pistonheads alias? tongue out

I personally haven't had any trouble as the Rapid Fit we always use has the right equipment to do centerless wheels properly smile

I have one of the manual tyre changing machines which bolts to the floor of in the garage. Perfect for removing fecked track tyres from steels but wouldn't put a nice set anywhere near it!

Surely it would be worth looking on ebay for a fitting and balancing machine? ~£500 for both in reasonable, useable nick seems about the going rate.

Yes, except that I'd need a compressor to go with it, and having all that setup in my front garden might be a bit extreme!
