Big lounge, about 26 feet across, I've never had a projector before, so completely new.
Is there a small lightweight job that will fit on a small shelf- or better in the wall???
Can't have a plasma as I have them all over the house- it must be a projector.
Is there a hi def one available??
Sorry fir the questions- just arrived back in the uk after a few years!!

As Plotless says, we need to know your budget first, but from such a long distance putting a PJ on a shelf (at the back of the room?) means that you'll get a very big image. As an example, mine is just over 6 metres away from the screen and the minimum (16:9) diagonal I can project is about 100". So you might need to position the PJ closer to the screen, perhaps on a table or on the ceiling to produce a smaller image: A very large image will need a bright PJ (=££s if you also want a good video performance) or at the least a screen with a large amount of gain (which brings it's own side effects).

cheers- I will be sure to watch. All other comments gratefully received, think I will do some real head scratching before going ahead- the lounge is in need of redecorating, so may well move furniture etc. Best decide on a plan prior to purchase

Just watched this on Fiver...what a p*** poor setup to demo projectors: With flood lamps and white walls, how could they hope to see what these models can do. Not arguing specifically with the result (used to own the previous AE3000 model myself) but if they'd viewed in the dark the outcome may have been different.Probably too late for this program, but Richer Sounds is to be selling JVC HD350 projectors as of the end of September for £1,999 which is only a small amount more than the AE4000, but IMHO it is a much better projector (got one myself and paid a damn sight more 18 months ago ), so well worth considering.
