No piccys of the Capri? Love to see it, mainly because many years ago I used to sell them (Bristol Street Motors - Cheltenham), including the Escort RS etc - and had a 3 ltr and then a Capri JPS special for a year!

How things have changed....remember have a PDI done on a JPS just before it was going out to a rich Arab chap - and there was a tiny 'ding' on one of the front wings (in the age of the 'ding-and-dent-men! -some will remember!), anyhow when they took the wing off (yes they did!), they found that the whole of the inside of the wing was coated in ...rust! Imagine my surprise when the fitter just shrugged his shoulders and replaced it!

Unfortunately people will be suprised how many cars (not just ford) had built-in rust as a feature of new cars back then, mainly because rust protection was an 'extra' on new cars and most were kept for months stock-piled outside in big compounds!

Hey Keith our paths may have crossed, I used to work in the Ford office that was responsible for the repair of damaged vehicles ex the plant....also arranged at one time vehicle deliveries to dealers....small world (maybe)
