If you remember, Trev has had his fair share of problems and he's still my P&J. Then again, Leos are loyal and it's been at least a week since I've mentioned Porsche!
I know I am doing the donkey work for someone to buy a corker cos the car is mint. Just sick of not being able to just climb in and drive off into the sunset. Supposed to be doing £2k around europe this summer. Get the feeling it might be worth doing it in a Porsche or a Lotus Elise

dont recall the elise being a problem when I drove one a few years back. At 6' 3" i was quite surprised as I wanted to buy an Elan about 5 years ago and that was laughable when I tried to even get in! No chance if you are over 5' 5"!!

Interesting. Most well-built tall guys I know do have a problem with the Elise, especially when the roof is in situ, and have to adopt a sort of horizontal sideways manoeuvre to exit! To a certain extent that is what put me off buying one too, not one of the most discreet cars for a lady with the width and depth of those door sills!
Exactly! IMHO nothing will live up to the Chim for similar money. I can't see me ever tiring of it either. It has fulfilled and indeed surpassed everything I wanted in a sportscar. I've always passionately loved TVRs, there's just something about them. Personally, the Porsche would have to be an addition not a replacement!

is that the best you 2 ladies can do to put me off? suggest that ladies display all when trying to get in and out of the elise? where do i sign....
maybe I would be better off keeping the TVR - you get a good view from the drivers seat when a lady gets out the car, rather than from being stood by the side of the car.

I agree with you entirely. Not only are TVR's addictive, there is just nothing I can see for similar money that has the same exciting badge on the front, the same performance and, perhaps most importantly, the same sense of occasion when driving it.
just getting a little sick of the car never seeming to be 100% right. I am going through that spell of ironing out the faults. When its a day like this, it pisses me off. a lot. Plus having just agreed a fancy garage extension I havent got the spare cash to throw at fixing the bloody thing. grrr.
rather ironically, this thread was started with a view to painting the positive side of TVR's - lovely day roof off. To silence the critics and rather than just post when a problem occurs. And this is how the hoover repays me. what a bitch
