Part worns, yes. Retreaded...no way, just not worth it when the aforementioned are so cheap and even NEW decent rubber can be had for good money (e.g Kuhmos, Falkens etc)

Hmm... you should ask him if they are retreads, he does twice say they're new. He maybe just accidentally clicked on "retreads" instead of "new".

Colway used to make excellent remoulds, used widely throughout motorsport, which could be very good though quality could vary.

You are probably thinking of recut treads, which are a different thing entirely. (iirc, they're allowed on buses and trucks, but not on cars).

fwiw, in the pictures of the tyres mounted on the car you can see 'Pirelli' written on the sidewalls - they're not remoulds.

Indeed, the fabulous Dunlop SSR was also a remould. In fact there's nothing wrong with remoulds regardless of their reputation - they can be as good as new tyres (or better if you're buying linglongs). You just dont see them anymore as its as cheap (if not cheaper) to produce brand new tyres....

I actually visited a tyre shop the other week that stocked new remoulds, £28 for a 195/50/15. Lovely.
