finding a decent 360
Discussion
Hi, need some help on dealer reccomendations, I.e. Where they actually advertise true facts. I am after a nice 360. Looked at 3 cars up here in scotland which were absolute dogs. Seen one today advertised on PH, poorly painted, tatty interior and not serviced since 2006! 2001 and yours for 44 large!
I am willing to travel to buy a good one down in england. I have been told the following guys prep their cars well, nick cartwright, verdi, walkersport and forza288.
Walkersport have 2 360s in. A tdf spider and a. Rosso f1modena. Anybody know these cars and are they in good condition?
Cartwright has several in stock that have been in for a wee while. Anybody know these cars?
How much of a haggle can you get in terms of discount to screen price?
The cars in scotland that I have viewed have been poor. Any PH punter looking to sell,I am not afraid of mileage but would like a good looked after well serviced car. Cash waiting.

I'm looking for a LHD 360 ideally with the F1 gearbox. With the Pound so weak it makes sense to buy in UK and import to where I am (Switzerland). Import duty is only 11% and a good 2002/3 360 here is minimum 110kCHF or 68kGBP.
Any ideas guys on where to look to see if this makes sense?

Interesting,
Walkersport seem very highly regarded and they seem quite keenly priced?
Smidge under 40k for the 02' 360 Spider in TDF/Tan doesnt seem at all bad too me (42k, new clutch, FSH, etc)
Ferraris in general seem to be getting very good value, this I like!
(not connected in any way to WS BTW, just a hopeful, possible, potential customer!)

Thanks, spoke to tim at length on friday very nice chap. It seems there are no good cars for sale in scotland and I will have to travel which is a bit of a pain. Nick cartwright has some very nice 360s in and I spoke to him on saturday. My aspiration is red, coupe, manual and tubi.
Rear challenge grill to break up the red?

My heart says red!
I was the same as you, until Saturday when I got back from four days with a 360 Spider (F1) in bright red with cream leather. The car is amazing, and def on the possible list for my next car, but boy did I feel like a tool some of the time!
Whenever I looked for one for sale, I was always looking for red. First Fezza has to be red right? But now I want grigo titanium or something else subdued, then I can enjoy the car without the attention. Maybe I'm just not gregarious enough for red!

Seriously don't worry about the 'red' thing. Get the car you like in the colour you like. I was set on red until I saw a TDF and fell in love with it. No regrets at all. Had it 18 months now and still love it. I wouldn't even worry too much about residuals either with non-red cars. I'm sure a red one will fetch a bit more but annoyingly it seems to be mileage that kills the value of these cars. Have you thought about an official dealer? You pay a bit more but it's unlikely you will get a lemon as they do a lot of work on them before selling on. Also I think you get a 2 year warranty now. Don't quote me on that! I bought from a dealer and haggled down a few thousand. No problems with the car either!
Good luck with your search. It will be worth it.

Thanks, tdf blue is a beautiful colour. I wish you good health to enjoy it! My aspirations have changed previously I originally wanted a black 996cab and bought a silver 996 c4s when I had my 911. Condition will have to be my primary consideration. Interestingly how hard could you push the main dealer in terms of price discount?. I Will be a cash buyer and no part ex.
Good luck with your hunt Celticstevie, and you are absolutely correct to buy on condition.
I am sure you know, but things I would want (and did want when I got my 360) are:
1. As low a mileage as possible. Ferrari values are very mileage sensitive. Whereas a 996 C4S would say fetch £25k with 50k miles, it would only probably fetch £27k with 25k miles, assuming the cars are similar age and spec. People will pay a decent premium when you sell for a car with low miles.
2. GET IT INSPECTED.
3. Once you have the car, if it doesnt have one, get an aftermarket exhaust. Many people have Tubi or Capristo, I have a milltek, which I think is excellent.
4. Check for heavy stone chips on the front bumper. I just got mine resprayed as it got really bad!
5. Full Ferrari service history is best, but for a £40-45k 360 I wouldnt be too fussed with one that has one of the recognised specialists stamps.
Best of luck, now is a great time to buy as prices will be lower!!
