workshop manual Thread ! where's it gone?

To the moderators , Did the workshop manual thread get removed. Can you please explain why. Dont want to hack anyone off but an explanation would be nice.

I would suspect it was because someone was offering to photo copy, and then sell, a Workshop manual without the permission of the Author.

As far as I could see, someone was offering to provide a copy of the manual at the cost of printing.

Given that the individual who authored this doesn't seem prepared to step out of the shadows, how else would you see us proceeding?

I am assuming that the document is not an original TVR manual, and therefore has actually required some work from someone...

I'm not so sure that this isn't an original TVR document. The photos look very much of the same setting and style as those in the other workshop manuals.

I'd like a manual - but not at the cost of making whoever wrote it feel cheated. If I'd written a manual and someone copied it without my permission I'd be pretty pee'd off.

if "we" can coax the author out maybe he/she could request a print run and like most group buys the producer still gets a cut but we get a good deal?

I understand where your coming from, and I wouldn't want someone to be deprived - that's not where I am going here. I merely suspect that the manual is an old TVR one, that happens to be in someone's possession. In this case that individual is getting something for nothing, in the community sense.

If it's all their own work, then good luck, charge what the market will bear, frankly.

in the past when I had a M100 Elan the MLOC folk bunged it all out on a disc so as to stop tts ripping people off on ebay and ensure that anyone who wanted software/manuals etc could have it.

think the authors only got massive respect and manly hearty handshake love - but everyone was happy.......

It was removed as PH believe that there was a possible copyright infringement taking place and it was not something that from a legal aspect that we wish to be involved in.

The OP would have received a deletion email to that effect.
