What's going on chaps? I am using a spread sheet and I am up to line 54 and ok. Anything I input after that is not saved. I save before closing down, but on reopening the new data is not there. Any ideas please.
Graham.

Can you open notepad via the start menu?

OR do you get an error box that says 'Unable to run this command'?

If its the latter then I am experiencing the same thing of shell command failyre which I think is caused by some sort of virus...

I can open notepad ok. What do you mean by exclusive access? I am using the same sheet on two PC's on a wireless network, is this something to do with it.

Yes.

Unless you have opened a copy of the sheet on the other machine you cant update the same sheet from one source on two machines.

You should have got a dialog box explaining this when you opened the spreadsheet on the other machine.

Unless of course you are using the new fangled brand new edition of office that allows this...

so in effect then I can't share documents. The idea was while she who has to be obeyed was using the main PC I could access my documents on the lap top. Have I shelled out for nothing?

Well...actually you can share your workbook providing there are no macros

Just go to Tools/share workbook and follow instructions

Have fun......
