Strange sight this afternoon - M6 North J22

As I was heading South on the M6 on my way into work this afternoon, I spotted three unmarked emergency vehicles heading North at considerable speed. This was at about 13:15.

- Vehicle 1 was a rather plain Golf, blues hidden in the grille. Didn't look like an R32.
- Vehicle 2 was a Mini! I'm assuming a Cooper S. Again, blue lights on the front.
- Vehicle 3 was s Leon Cupra R, old shape. Again, lit up like a Christmas tree.

I believe there was an incident near Sandbach this afternoon, so something to do with that maybe? Paramedics using their own vehicles?

heard briefly its been closed in both directions following fatalities of some pedestrians on the motorway?!

M6 Cheshire - M6 closed, delays of one hour and 20 minutes and queueing traffic northbound between J16, A500 (Stoke-On-Trent) and J18, A54 (Middlewich), because of accident investigation work. Diversion in operation - Follow the Black triangle symbols as far as J17 then the black diamond symbols. Use the A500 onto the A34 through Alsager to the A50 via Holmes Chapel onto the A54 to rejoin the M6 at J18. Congestion to Keele Services.
