Adding more own replies to topic

A bad title, but what I would like to do is, in a long thread that I have started to create more empty posts after the initial ones, if that makes sense?

The thread is the earphones review in home cinema & hi-fi forum:

The first three posts, where all the reviews are, are rapidly running out of space, is there any way to "reserve" more posts after the first three, to make the reviews continuous at the top of the thread? Or should I start a new thread and reserve the ten first posts and link to the original thread?

Never done a wiki before, I take it's the same as any "normal" thread except others can add and edit stuff there too? Sounds quite good actually

Pretty much the same as a normal thread, except there is only one post which anyone can edit. To avoid it becoming massive and unreadable, it's often best to create one main wiki (which we can then sticky if needed) which links to seperate wikis/threads containing each type of review.

If you fancy setting one up then you are welcome to do so, and I'll be happy to help if you get stuck.

I thought I'd check with you before I do anything. What I've thought about is to have a main wiki, as you suggested, and then link to all the different reviews from there. The main wiki would also have links to other portable audio reviews, such as portable media players and portable amps, all categorised and alphabetically sorted.

Question is, can I have one link for each review (so far there would be 32 IEM reviews, 3 Amp reviews and 4 PMP reviews), to make it easier to navigate and find the review? Should this single review link be a normal forum post or a wiki post in itself? Or is this clogging up the entire PH, and I should think of another solution?

Probably best (to start with at least) to have a few reviews in each seperate wiki rather than creating hundreds of wikis all at once. So to start with, create one for IEMs, one of amps, one for PMPs and so on.

To make them navigable (especially the longer IEM one) the easiest option is probably to use a table of contents at the top. If you've never done it before, all you need to do is write [ toc ] without the spaces at the top of the wiki and then use the heading tags (see formatting help) for each review and it will generate it and update it automatically. If you want an example then take a look at the classified problems faq (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=24&t=558399) sticky.

That classifieds FAQ seems a very good model. I'll give it a try and see what it ends up like.

Ooops, I tried doing the same with the IEM reviews, and after a few reviews I had reached the maximum limit of a wiki. Problem is I will be adding reviews on the IEM ones quite regularly so I need growing space, and they would need to be easy to navigate and find.

Got any suggestions?

This wiki is meant to be the main one: Portable audio gear reviews

The specific alphabetical IEM wikis, amp wiki and pmp wiki are there just to hold the content and do not really need to be on the first page of the forum, they will probably be pushed back eventually as well.

One question remais though, how do I get the wiki up front when a new review has been added?

Wikis automatically get bumped to the top every time they are updated, so you don't need to worry about that, but it might be worth putting "(New)" in the header of the reviews that you have added most recently so that people can see what has changed.

Headphone/Earphone Reviews S-Z

I ran out of space and created a new wiki from W-Z and would need the above one edited to from S-Z to S-V.
