Audi Allroad advice....

Hi All,
Looking at getting rid of my nissan Pathfinder in the next few months and fancy an allroad, most likely an 05 ish 2.5tdi 180PS auto.
Can anyone give me feedback on things to look out for on these?
Looking to spend around 10K on soemthing with 50K ish miles.
I understand air suspension can be a problem (what part is the issue?)
I understand that they can do quite high mileage if looked after?

Air suspension bladders fail and even when replaced they can fail again.
Cost c£450 plus fitting per corner, the bladder is integral to strut.
Check by putting car on highest suspension setting (bladder is stretched exposing splits)and see if a corner sags.
Also auto boxes are a weak point. Must have a fluid/filter change at 60/70k.
I considered one once and was advised that unless a slightly higher ride height was needed then an ordinary A6 Avant was alot less problematic.

Get the 4.2 V8. Same engine as the S4- 344bhp. The 2.7 Biturbo is a great engine when tweaked, but eats turbos. The diesel is horrible- aggricultural, slow and not that good on MPG. My boss had one briefly and managed 32mpg on average.
Manuals are rare, but probably better. Tiptronic boxes have a habit of going bang, especially on the 2.7.

Anyway, i'd have (and do have in my A8) the 3.0tdi.
