'look mum no hands' on old st tonight.

Very odd place. Extremely clique. If you are not a courier then they deffo look down on you. 4 quid a beer, which is par for the course, but given couriers earn about 60 quid a day I'm not sure how they afford to drink there.

It is however worth a visit to see the different bikes there. Loads of different bikes, folders, fixed, vintage, racers. You name it, its there. Quite a show.

Worth a look to see the different people and bikes there, but don't think I'll bother going back...

I didn't know the place existed...pity you found it cliquey as the concept is good. In my humble opinion, it's something that has always been prevalent in the cycling world, bike snobbery. Partly to do with the cost of bikes, but more of a fashion thing.

It's something that annoys the fk out of me. A lot of bike shops have the same problem; wander into them and you have to endure the initial 30 yard stare from the staff and hanger-ons.

Their website is a pile of poo... but like I say, nice concept.

I went there last weekend as I was in London. Very good coffee, and the pies are excellent (salad's not too bad either), not cheap but then every price in London comes as a shock to me smile

I didn't notice any clique-i-ness when I was there, but they were showing the Vuelta on the TV, so maybe that helped? Some very nice bikes parked outside too, it's just the sort of place we need in York.

Cheers,
Tom

Pies...and salad?

Please don't tell me they serve pies - with salad!

I think PH'er McCarthy works there?

I think it looks great, just wish there was somewhere similar in Newcastle. frown

Not mandatory, but possible! You get all the taste of a huge delicious pie...but it's healthy right 'cause of the salad smile
