Gareth Malone's Extraordinary School for Boys
Discussion
Did anyone watch this on BBC2 last night?
For a choir teacher I thought he did pretty well to survive even a day at a school like that!
The idea of engaging the lads was a good one in theory but I said to my wife that I bet it makes them more disruptive in "normal" class.
Also, from my limited knowledge as the spouse of a primary teacher, I don't think there is a chance in hell any school would allow even Yr6 pupils to run round the woods with saws.
Interesting program though.

I saw this and thought a lot of teachers would love to do this but do not because:
1. They do not have the time to organise and arrange all these activities themselves (They do not have the BBC to help them)
2. Health and safety. Teachers have to fill in 7 pages of health and safety forms as soon as they leave the classroom and try and do something interesting.
