Don't mean to be a spoilsport but I have had quite a few customers get their cycle computers, shoes, clothing etc and just about all of it has fallen apart within 6 months. A few customers felt that 6 months on some £20 shoes was okay but when I explain you could get 4 years out of a £60 pair it sinks in.
One thing I have learnt in my short life is that you very much get what you pay for unless you've blatantly been ripped off which is very rare with parts and clothing in the bike trade.

I hear bad things about aldi/lidl stuff as often as I hear bad things about branded stuff. The one thing I have heard bad things about are the track pumps, but then only things like:
"I have some of their summer stuff and I'm happy with that. All except the track pump which I've managed to bodge to work for presta only."

I've been virtually sponsored by aldi + lidl for the last few years. Track pump, bike computer, jacket, shorts, various running + cycling tops, gloves, shades, heart rate monitor, camelback, merino top, skiing gear. One thing I have learnt in my short life is that you very much get what you pay for unless you've blatantly been ripped off which is very rare with parts and clothing in the bike trade.
So far I've not had to replace or return a single item, and most of it sees use at least 3 or 4 times a week.
If plenty of people are finding it fine then fair enough, just doesn't seem to be anyone I've met yet, either that or they ride mor ein worse conditions than people posting those comments. Good decent brand shoes and clothing, think Altura, Endura, Shimano, Specialized, Bontarget, Pearl Izumi etc is so high quality it's very rare anyone has problems comsidering the volume they sell. I've warrantied one pair of shimano shoes in 12 years selling them and I don't think that was their fault. I know I need the technical fabrics and design for the riding I do as I still find the limits of top end clothing.

The stitching holding the bum pad of my winter tights from Aldi has come apart after 2 years but only 20 rides and washes.
The Aldi cycling shorts have been much better, but then to look at its easy to tell they are better quality garment.
The Aldi winter waterproof cycling jacket is rather crinkly but functional, well designed good zip.
Mixed bag really. The valve on my Aldi track pump isn't great, but for fiver I'll put up with it.
I have an Aldi double barrel car pump and the valve knacker up pretty quickly.

Bought a pair of socks, a pair of winter trousers and a pair of thermal pants. The trousers are padded around the bum/crotch and seem fine. For the price I might buy a second set now I know what they're like.
The thermals are nylon to the touch but anything to keep my knees warm. I'm struggling to believe I'll need both the thermals and the trousers but I've got them at a bargain so I can mix and match as I feel appropriate.
Socks are... well, socks.
Must be careful how they all wash I suppose. Very low temps.
Didn't fancy the shirt because I've a PH T-shirt I prefer. Didn't fancy the rain-proof jacket either - if I need one for my weekly ride I'll consider not going or wearing my North Face coat.
I've already got Spesh SPD shoes and in comparison the Aldi SPDs looked a bit bulky and obviously cheap. Does that sound snobbish?
One thing I didn't find was a pair of bib trousers. Give that I'm a fat knacker, I might look like a wrestler in them anyway.
